A sign at Topanga Beach warns "beginners and kooks"

Title

A sign at Topanga Beach warns "beginners and kooks"

Description

A sign made from a skimboard is posted on a tree by the Topanga Beach stairs. It says, "Warning, beginners and kooks. South of tower (that way ←). Please respect. You give, you get." Graffiti says, "No longboarders."

Los Angeles County partially ended their COVID-19 beach closure three months earlier, on May 13, 2020. They allowed surfing, but lying or sitting on the sand was still prohibited. The number of new surfers notably increased during the pandemic.
