Description
A fluorescent, hand-colored, signed poster for the surf film "The Californians" by Jamie Budge (1967) advertises his East Coast tour and premiere with the question, "Why are they coming east?" The film would later be expanded and rereleased in 2010. The poster says,
"The Californians, a unique film by Jamie Budge. Most Californians come from somewhere else, but were moved by something within to pioneer west. It was this spirit that drove the Californians to become pioneers in a new sport: surfing. One Californian is Jamie Budge, whose fresh new techniques in cinematography let you feel the pulse of a unique adventure, east and west, in a new kind of America. Something within is moving them, and the Californians are coming. But why? What are they looking for?"
