Title

Mickey Moriarty and Jon Vogel's house, 2/2

Description

"This was such a fun place to live. We bought it from an old character named Joe back in 1969. When we bought it the house was condemned.... It had a lower rental unit that we rented out that paid all of our costs. We had lots of animals just like everyone else at Topanga. The house had an unusual configuration. The bathroom was all the way in the front. The front window at the top of the stairs was the bathroom. It had the best view in the house. We built our bedrooms in the back in a loft type of arrangement. I cut a hole in the roof and installed a cover that we could open and close. If I stood on my bed and opened the cover I had a perfect view of the break and all the way up to Point Dume.... The little shack above and to the right was rented out to Mike Shultz.... When I moved onto the beach in 1971, Mickey Moriarty took over and he was able to enjoy it until the place burned down. The deck over PCH was a super fun party venue."
