Title

Bob Feigel and Celeste Mills's hippie wedding, 4/4

Description

Bob Feigel and Celeste Mills's hippie wedding culminated on the deck of Jim and Francis Fitzpatrick's house, next to the vacant lot, on Topanga Beach on Easter 1971.

Kenny McWilliams, the pastor, reads to the couple.
Helen Mills, mother of the bride, stands behind her.

"We were married four times that day. Once by Baron Bingen (from the film "Rainbow Bridge"), David H. Stern (coauthor of "Surfing Guide to Southern California"), a pastor chosen by my bride's sister to ensure our marriage was legal and church approved (her mother was a Roman Catholic and I wasn't so a priest was out of the question), and by my dear friend and surfing pal, Kenny McWilliams, who married us with a special composition on his standup bass.... Our wedding was also part of a television special about different ways Easter was celebrated.... "Beer Can Larry" [Wright] took off his bunny ears for the photo, but not his bunny tail while passing around extra strong beer and ale in a cute Easter basket he was carrying."
