The shipwreck of "Jeane Taggert" rests on Topanga Beach

Title

The shipwreck of "Jeane Taggert" rests on Topanga Beach

Description

A 67-foot, commercial, fishing boat, the "Jeane Taggert," rests on Topanga Beach after being stripped of all its useful gear. The boat hit the rocky point in the fog when its electronic navigation malfunctioned on August 5, 1969, at about 6:25 p.m. Attempts to tow the boat seaward were unsuccessful, and it broke apart. Captain Ernie Tate, of San Pedro, and two others waded to shore without injury.
