Gun-toting Mary West picnics with her daughters
Title
Gun-toting Mary West picnics with her daughters
Description
Gun-toting Mary West picnics with her daughters on Topanga Beach. The caption says, "Mary A. West with Elizabeth West in front and Frances West in rear. That rifle being held by Mrs. West was given to me in Lordsburg, N.M. about 1894 by the assistant agent, whose name I now forget. The rifle was in the office and he told me that the stock had been cracked over a man's head. Was a 32 rim fire Winchester. I cleaned the rifle up and used it for many years on rabbits, etc. Gave it to Al Siemsen about 1936 and last I saw of it it was hanging up in his garage at 1811 Los Encinos Ave., Glendale, Calif."
